As we get ready for the 2021 golf season, I am just curious what everybody else is doing on their courses with supplies. It has been nice not dealing with bunker rakes and ball washers, but is it time to put everything back out on the course or have we learned some things are not needed or not as many. Just curious what you all are doing with:
Flagsticks back to normal or with noodles or liners to stop the ball?
Bunker rakes going back out or not?
    Ball washers?
    Water coolers?
    Thanks,
    Paul

We had everything back out by mid summer last season.  I wish we could do without bunker rakes.  So nice not having to mess with them.  I would bet at least half and maybe 75% of bunker shots are not raked anyway.  I have pictures on our facebook page from last summer showing just that.  The person walked within a foot or two of the rake,  within a couple hours of the machine rake job, left footprints and the spot from where the shot was played untouched.  Discussed this very topic with Pat Jones last summer.  Bunkers are supposed to be hazards anyway, not perfectly groomed like the beaches of the Riviera.

I would say as much as Top Golf has helped increase interest in playing, there is a boom of golfers who have no concept of on course etiquette. It hasn't been good for a while but there is definitely a noticed decline recently.  At Top Golf they are catered to, waited on, and have their messes cleaned up for them.  We are seeing that on the course.  When we see them we call them "Top Golfers"  Bad swings, carts beyond restricted areas, not repairing divots, more trash laying on the ground, beer cans laying on the ground next to trash cans like they expect the Staff to pick it up for them.  When I was learning the game it was drilled into us that on the course it was the golfer's duty to leave the course better than it was found.

    Paul,

Bunker Rakes are not going out for now, saves a lot of time for mowers and bunker crews.
Coolers are never going out and without a full kitchen to santize them and store them they probably should have been brought in a long time ago.
Ball washers and benches were out last year and will be out this year.
Pool noodles are on the flag poles. Pull them out if you want, or leave them in, it is up to the customer.
We are discouraging single rider carts but still allow.

We stopped the single rider carts about mid summer last season.  Single rider carts are allowed but for an extra $15.

Pro shop and grounds pretty much following guidelines the Indiana Golf Assn. developed with help from the governor's office thus the gov let golf stay open the entire time.  Some counties and cities were more restrictive but our county let us stay open.
