On March 14, the American Golf Industry Coalition (AGIC) announced that Reps. Richard Hudson (R-NC) and Scott Peters (D-CA) have joined as new co-chairs of the Congressional Golf Caucus. They will serve alongside existing co-chairs Reps. Nancy Mace (R-SC) and Jimmy Panetta (D-CA) in a strengthened bipartisan leadership team dedicated to advancing policies that support the golf industry's contributions to the American economy, environmental sustainability and community wellbeing.
On March 12, new EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin announced that EPA will work with the United States Army Corps of Engineers to review the definition of “waters of the United States” (WOTUS) in the aftermath of the Supreme Court’s decision in Sackett v. EPA and prepare a new rulemaking. GCSAA Director of Federal and Congressional Affairs Bob Helland was at EPA headquarters for the announcement.
On Jan. 6, the EPA published their new changes to the chlorothalonil label, and due in part to the advocacy efforts of GCSAA and its members, the Registration Review Interim Decision (ID) was significantly different from the label changes that were proposed in 2023.
