   Hello,

   i have used Profile for years started using it on isolated dry spots.  Greens were USGA spec (rice hulls not peat) Would pull cores then dump a bag or two on the area and lute into the holes. I saw immediate results  Years later at Old Hickory the challenge was Straight sand greens (large particle) zero organics in the mix.  No water retention, leaching of fert. etc.   We used dry ject 3 times to add profile to the root zone.  Also have used it to topdress trouble or hurt areas (keeps out the algae).  I believe in it and have used it for years.  The reason for my post was now 10 years has gone by and while i am still a big fan.  My new super and our superintendent emeritus are not fans and thus my inquiry.  I want to give them the freedom to manage the turf but i feel the use of Profile is key to our continued success.  I don't feel their fears of layering and compaction are valid and was hoping for some real world superintendent feedback to support me or turn me if that be the case.

   I also used it around 15 years back on a few problem greens at my old course. it worked well but I was not sold on the punching the holes and sweeping it in method. Since then we see the newer machines that can put it into the soil for us which I feel would be a big plus but I have always been concerned with a solid hole filled with just profile. I may try doing this with a few greens next year where I may mix it with sand and then have it put into the greens. I know it works great I was hoping to find more infor on others that has also used it.

   im thinking about dryjecting it in as well because we have one green on the main course thats straight sand and then a short course that has straight sand greens as well i just didnt know if trying to fill the holes would be better or dryjecting it in

   I've only been at my current course for 14 months and I can tell we have serious issues with hot spots. I have to use high rates of wetting agents to even keep them close to being right and water twice a day everyday. there is no moisture retention what-so-ever. I will be looking into dryjecting it in this next year also.
   
   What are your thoughts on this process though. not sure I would want to go straight and I would need to think about mixing it onsite if I am to dilute it.

   I have used Profile in several sets of new USGA greens.   I used it in a 90-10 and an 85-25 mix in the rootzone.  I liked the immediate CEC levels.  I also continued to use it as topdressing.   I would use a different angular sand at aerification.   I liked the product
   Just check into their spec sheet to see if it has the water and pore space ratio that you are comfortable with
