Any ideas on recovery from desiccation on the slopes of bentgrass greens would be appreciated. to this point we have punched, topdressed, reseeded and increased wetting agent along with hand watering while keeping the mowers off these areas. thanks in advance

You are doing everything right. At least that is what we teach kids. Get warm air into the cold soil, reseed, topdress. keep it moist? Not sure if you can get any black topdressing sand or a little activated charcoal powder to absorb heat. Maybe staple down some covers? Some of those recycled paper hydroseeding mulches perhaps? What part of the world are you in? Did not think it got that cold this winter. A couple of warm days will work wonders. It is hard enough to end the season with dead grass, I always thought that starting out that way would suck. Good luck. Kenneth Ingram, UMD.

Mike, I dealt with the same thing about 5 yrs ago.  I bought a roll of Reusable seed guard  fabric from Gemplers worked as a great incubator for the seed.  Good luck!
