    Your thoughts are welcome

Bunker renovation coming soon. Golf course is located on sand based island.
Current bunkers have gravel through out the bunker due to many reasons 12 years since renovated, sand pro, heavy rainfalls, high tides backing up through drainage systems.

Considering using Perforated pipe with sock and use a coarser sand instead of gravel.

We also have no high faces and we are not using a liner since we are sand based.

Only major issue gravel in bunkers. Renovated bunkers after Huuricane Ike 2008.

Will be using Arkansas White Sand (crushed quartz)

I have no practical experience with Arkansas White Sand, but can you eliminate the gravel and use a micro-slit tile? Fill the trenches with the bunker sand and take the gravel issue out of the equation.

Better Billy Bunker system would make them perfect. especially with the cost of that new sand.

I would avoid the filter sock. Just make sure you gravel bridges with the sand.

Last I heard, people have been returning their Arkansas Crushed Quartz, quality issues.

Seems like rising tide could help backflush your drainage??? Looking for a positive here....

I would stay away from the sock, once it's clogged your drainage is finished.

Can you put the drainage in deeper, more gravel (filter) over the pipe? I have built greens and bunkers in sand based areas with no drainage.
