I'm having difficulty getting my sand built tees sodded with Meyer Zoysia to hydrate.
Which wetting agent would you recommend to try and pentrate the sod layer and rehydrate the sand layer below? My current options are Duplex from Precision or Dispatch from Aquatrols. Thanks for you input.

It should not matter as long as either breaks the surface tension as any wetting agent should! It may be that the sod is thatchy, meyers zoysia can be very thatchy especially sod wise. You might want to consider spiking it to get the water to penetrate also, it is just as effective if it is a thatch issue...I have fought Meyers zoysia in transition area Md Va and it does well but can get thatch quickly....JMO. Good luck.

Like Gregg said, both will work. Solid tine if rooted enough and make sure you use enough water...soak 'em the first couple times (with a hose if necessary) and keep up with whatever wetting agent you choose.

Combo of Duplex and Magnus. Duplex to break the surface tension and Magnus to hold it in the 2-3" root zone.

I know this subject has come up in the past but what is everyone using for wetting agents on greens, tees, and fairways. I have soil based tees and cannot seem to them wet enough. Have used two different types of wetting agents this year and not very much success.

I have tried many. Champion greens in Atlanta area. Aquaduct, Primer select, Retain, Magnaplex, TriCure.
I really like Aquaduct(Aquatrols), but am giving Magnaplex(Precision) a try. I can get around 3 weeks out of Aquaduct, and Magnaplex doesn't seem to get me as long.

    Andy,

Those greens used to do real good with good old Aqua Aid. Jim Miller, a past Supt of NCC, now is the rep. I'm sure he could also offer some advice.

We mix Magnus at 4oz/m and Duplex at 1oz/m(same as Magnaplex). Have used this combo for many moons and never have a problem. Get roughly 21-28 days out of each spray. What I like is, we don't get hydrophobic areas, but a more consistent drying across the entire green. I'm sold, been sold, and will continue to be sold on these products.

previously they used revolution here...what i have found even better is that they replaced all of the greens sprinkler nozzles and had minimal hand watering to do here and kept the greens drier. Haven't used a wetting agent since late may....good water distribution

Tim, what type of nozzles were they changed to? Part or full circle?

Curious to see what wetting agents people are using on poa/bentgrass greens. We are in southern Vermont.

We currently use Fleet, which provides us with great conditions...firm and fast...and it generally takes care of our LDS. We go at 1 gal/Acre and will water in with .15-.25" of water when we apply it.

However, it seems to me that we cannot grow anything from seed and our sod/plugs tend to suffer when we use it.

I have been told that Revolution kept the greens too moist and cascade/duplex would almost look like we suffered some leaf burn.

Like I said Fleet is very good for us for our playing conditions, but I don't seem to be able to get seed to germinate when we us it. Just wondering what others are using.

    thanks!

We use Revolution and it will keep us fairly firm and control most of our LDS, if we water in properly, meaning with at least a third of an inch of irrigation, and by using our moisture meter religiously, we keep the dry spots from appearing.

We use PBS 150, seem to have great results. We use it on our greens, tees and fwys which are mainly bentgrass.

We use a 1/2 rate of fleet and a 1/2 rate of symphony together. Works well for us. We get the benefits of the fleet pushing water but also get some moisture to stay on top with the symphony.
