Does anyone really know what happened to the greens mower on the 17th green at AAC?? The PGA website says that the damage occured because of a high dewpoint and the mower brushes getting stuck. Can that really happen? Anyway they did a great job a repair since it is not noticiable anymore.

Not sure what happened to greens but my members are calling me left and right asking questions. I have brushes on our Toro Flex 21 walkers, mowing height .090 on Seadwarf Paspalum. Hope someone can explain the dew point issue. I checked our dew points this morning while mowing and we where 80, temperature 86 with heat index 104.
To Ken and his staff, Great job. The golf course looks great on TV.

We have this type of damage happen occasionally on bermudagrass here in LA. The JD groomer/brush attachments spin the opposite direction of the reel, they tend to fluff up the grass if they are set to deep and if the greens need to be verticut. At this point the grass that is fluffed up will get pulled through the reel and the end result basically looks like a sod cutter was taken across the area.
