    Gentlemen:

Anybody out there have any innovative ideas for dealing with heavy cotton on greens? Here at Dakota Dunes CC
it will be so bad that HOC will be off due to rollers growing from the cotton. The only solution that we've found effective is 3 minute syringe followed by cutting with groomers down. We find green speeds slow when groomers are in use.

    Thanks in Advance!!

    Hey Doug,

We will do the 3 minute syringe and then run the triflex over them first to harvest the cotton followed by the walkers. Another method we try is to brush the greens with the greensgroomer brush and then mow. Constant battle here at The Country Club of SF. Starting out to be a heavy cotton year. Best of luck!

Wish I could help. Not much of a problem in MD. I included Cottonwood into a lecture of nuisance trees fruit/litter, etc. and chemical controls. I could not believe the number of YouTube video's about burning cotton. That stuff is dangerous. Kenneth Ingram, UMD

I saw the better part of a fairway burn up in the old gas cart days.
