    Hello-

I've a Spraystar about 4 yrs old and just this season starting having issues, mainly it just reads 0 or maybe pops on and starts running after 50 yrd or maybe 50 gallons, or maybe not at all. I've played with electrical connections, etc. to no success. Of course I'm concerned about my rate when this is not functioning.

Also, occasionally one or another of my spray booms when turned on will pulse on-----off---on---off-----on---offf---on---off---on. Any suggestions on either of these problems?

    Thanks,

Have you disassembled the flow meter and cleaned it where the fluid flows through? The impeller should spin freely.
Any debris in there will cause an issue and if you have sprayed any products with iron you will likely find some tiny pieces stuck to the magnet.

The attachment shows a flow meter on a Toro but they both use Raven controllers so it should be similar. Make sure the notch on the sensor is pointing in the correct direction when you reassemble it. Learned that one the hard way.

We spray a lot of powdered iron, and always have problems with the magnets getting covered and not letting the flow meter read. Pretty easy to pop out, clean off with a pick under running water, and reassemble.

As for the pulsing and possible sticking on & off I'll ask a couple questions as it's been awhile since I've had one of these units and am not aware of possible changes made. Do they still have the three control valves that are shaft / diaphragm operated, or did they go to the electric ball valve? The coating on the shafts use to start coming off over long periods of use causing issues. Also storing over winter and not getting them extremely clean would lead to issues. We use to take ours apart and clean every spring, and replace if the shafts start flaking or pitting. I ended up go with an all ball-valve setup that prove to be much more cost effective and reliable. Hope this helps.
