As the prez makes his rounds in the midwest on his campaign tour, yeah yeah its all business, I know, he is speaking of what can stimulate jobs immediately, so he claims. Infastructure (a good idea....except), patent reform (thats a new one), a free trade agreement ( a signature of every president since Clinton, including Bush) and payroll tax extension.

We do need improvements in our nations infastructure, no one can argue that. But can we afford it? We're broke and in debt. A topic for discussion for sure. Patent reform is not exactly a job creator. It is more about making indivduals and large corporations ( a no no to the democrats) money. Both the House and the Senate have passed bills addressing this........but is languishing somewhere in never never land. The creation of another free trade agreement with Korea, Panama and Columbia is another bureaucratic idea that has less merit once you look closely at it. Shipping to those countries do not guarantee that thousands of new jobs will be created by a trade agreement. A senior democratic official has said as much, trade deals "won't create jobs directly" and some economist think it could COST the US upwards of 200,000 jobs. The payroll tax deduction that was passed a year ago is a good thing. Extend it. Not a lot of money, but money I spend on goods and services that the government is not holding. Good for employers as they too are getting break in payroll taxes. But the the oxymoron of this "job creator" is the democrats want MORE TAXES and the Republicans want more cuts to spending and this could be construed as just that. Hey finally a bi partisian agreement on something.

Hope he enjoys his ride on the Hound.

David, don't forget those two big job creators, Food Stamps and Unemployment payments! After all, that money is spent immediately. Just think if we were all on unemployment and food stamps, our troubles would all go a away. Problem solved! I just love the logic.

Did anyone notice that the TEA Partier who questioned Obama at his campaign stop in IA about Biden's terrorist statement was a former turfgrass management major from Iowa State?

How can a guy who never had a real job, surrounded by academic appointments who also have never held real jobs actually think he knows how to create a job? I guess driving a parade of 45 vehicles begins the job creation.

    Sandy,

Yet another example of how the hope part of "Hope and Change" comes into play.

Well in the case of "Hope" it is painfully obvious that conservatives hope to sacrifice the country to further their own interests. As far as jobs go Obama has been an attorney, a teacher and an editor (as well as an legislator, commander-in-chief and leader of the free world) and we all know how conservatives feel about litigators, educators and the media.

You guys will eventually have to face that many Republicans do not like the Tea Party and the TP will be the fall of the conservative agenda. They are not going to vote for silly unreasonable candidates by virtue of the fact that they have an (R) after their name. (Hey I made a political post without mentioning Sarah Palin ...oops!)

There are people who contribute to this forum who think a "Senator Christine O'Donnell" makes complete sense!

He at least helped the folks that work at the Prevost bus factory in Quebec Canada with job retention at any rate and I am sure they appreciate his efforts. :D

Bring up the ancient 57 states video over and over is just childish in the face of the continuous gaffs from the right over and over and over and over! :ugeek:

    You're funny, Scott.

That clip of Christine O'Donnell made perfect sense. Sounded like she wanted to talk about her book and Piers Morgan kept trying to talk politics. Better get a better clip to prove your point, Scott.
I have to admit that she is a little odd in her views.

My point with that was that everybody makes mistakes. Between the two sides, the mistakes, gaffes, and crazy people come out to a push. What's childish is concentrating on these sideshows instead of the issues.

Maybe so, but it wouldn't be good enough for him.

    David,

We have our differences, but you have been kind to my son in his warrior mode so I am concerned about you. This last post of your's seems a little Limbaugh pill induced to me. Do you need anything?

LOL no but thanks for the concern Scott. Got home and read all the post and got fired up I suppose. Hope Obama and the family have a good time in Hyannisport and looking forward to his PLAN when he returns. Glad Erik made it home safely and is back enjoying his family. Good luck in his future life choices. I salute him for his service.
