The Toro pump is junk. Love the John Deere.

Mike Hundley said: For you John Deere guys, will the centrifugal put out much water per acre without having to drive super slow? I am looking at one and that was my only concern. I sometimes put out at a rate of 90 gals/ acre with my toro 1250 at 4.3 mph for some products. Will that be doable with the centrifugal you think?

The centrifugal pump that JD & Smithco use has double the flow of the Toro diaphragms.

Echoing the other comments on the JD. We have 2 HD200's, they are : Bulletproof, 2nd gear W.O. gets you 4.x mph, so as long as you figure out pressure, nozzling, etc. its got a pretty wide range of GPM. The pump can last years on seals, with our units going out at least 75 times a year. Pretty fuel efficient, easy to do basic maintenance.

And that being said, the Hypro pump on the Deere is a very common pump. Most sprayer dealers or even online stores can supply parts. We get our seal kits and have even replaced the entire pump and hydraulic motor from http://www.sprayerdepot.com for half the cost than going through the dealer.

Umm, I'm in my 10th season with a Jac DS300 and it has been flawless. Considering the dry raw ingredients I dump in and the fact the pump has never shown any type of noticeable wear, I would vote for it. Jac seems to be popular with their mowing equipment down there. I surprised I never see the DS on the recommended list
