I think this may be the most fun year of all. Realistically, probably 6 of the remaining teams have the potential to be NCAA Champions. I don't know how much longer their quest will go but I have to cheer for a small upstart out of Florida. Those kids are having a ball and playing some pretty impressive basketball in the process. Any team that shoots 3's better than some teams shoot free throws is definitely fun to watch. Let the fun begin!

    Sandy,

It's going to be fun to watch. It's kind of nice that there is no clear favorite going in this year with several teams having a real shot to win it all. Obviously I'm pulling for my Spartans to start their run to the Final Four with a win over Duke tomorrow!!

    Gary,

I am with you Go Spartans! As a Maryland Terrapin Fan we hate Duke with a passion beyond normality! We beat them twice this year and got let out of the big tournament, but are doing well in NIT, in fact final four with upset win a few days ago to get there! So For now until we become a big ten team after next year I will cheer for the Spartans and hope they make Duke puke!! Go Get them!!

I am thinking the Orangemen and Louisville may be the two favorites at the moment. When they are playing like last night, that Syracuse defense is really hard to score on. Louisville is strong in every position and plays fast. They eat others up with turnovers and easy baskets. I am pulling for the little Florida team to upset the big Florida team tonight!

    Sandy,

That display by Syracuse last night was pretty impressive. They seemed to be hot and cold during the year but if they stay focused and play like that for another 10 days they'll be tough to beat.

OUCH!!!! Spartans gone and somehow Michigan comes back to beat Kansas in final two minutes. Cinderella is gone as well but they pushed Florida all day. Great effort by those kids. Guess the fact that I'll be on the road driving to Colorado next Saturday won't mean I'll be missing anything now.

Alford to UCLA only a few days after signing a ten-year deal at New Mexico. There's some real loyalty for you. Must be somehow related to Nick Saban!!

Alford is all about Alford. His ego arrives about five minutes before he does. He buried Iowa's bb program and we are still digging out! With some watchful NCAA eyes he'll have UCLA in trouble pretty quickly!

Some huge upsets and some moderate surprises sort of changed the look of the last couple of weeks of college basketball. Didn't expect Duke to go real far but losing the first game is a huge upset. Kentucky beating the Shockers wasn't impossible but the Wildcats have been an up and down team all year but have found a way to play together when it counts. My Aztecs will be meeting Arizona and they better learn quickly how to shoot at a much higher percentage. They continue to miss easy baskets. Can our defense shut down Arizona? Not too sure that can happen but I am hoping for what I think would be considered an upset. Lots of fun games coming up with very good match ups. Will it be one of the usual big powerhouse teams or will a lesser known program pull it off this year. I still think any of the remaining teams can win this thing. It will be exciting.

    Sandy,

March Madness at it's finest!!! Lots of surprises and the Billion Dollar Bracket Challenge was done real quick. Thought there would be a few upsets but nothing like happened this weekend. Great games yesterday with lots of great individual performances in losing efforts as well as by some of the winners. My Spartans are still looking pretty good but we'll see what happens with them this week with Virginia. Good to see different players step up big time for them in the games this past weekend and if everyone is playing well they might win it all.

March Madness has been great. I was out of it before round 2 was even over with. Hoping SDSU makes it to the final four. I did not have any of the number 1 teams making it past the elite 8. This weeks game will be interesting and how many more upsets will occur.

How bout my Volunteers?! Not even the most die hard fans expected that. Glad to see rebounding and D still matters.

Only thing left to watch for now is "One Shining Moment" after the championship game and looking for a Cinderella. Tennessee might work also, since Coach Martin was here in Springfield at Missouri State before going to Knoxville.

I can watch the NIT too…..Go Noles!

The excitement begins today? Arizona printed up T shirts saying sweet 8. Do you think maybe one of those has been hanging the the San Diego State Aztecs locker room all week? Not always wise to jump the gun. Odds are out the window on this one. Both are fully capable of winning this game. May come to a last possession.

Heartbreak is all I can say! Had the game won for all but 5 minutes. Our downfall was what I feared all year, too many missed shots and you can't do that in the sweet 16. Though our intensity against Arizona was tremendous and our defense and rebounding were great,we just missed too many inside shots and really don't have the shooters to make up the difference. Congratulations to Arizona. They had to dig very deep to win this game. I guess it is back to wait until next year since on paper, this was a rebuilding year and the players next year are coming from the top recruiting class the Aztecs have had since Fisher took over. I don't think it will be any consolation for the Aztecs if Arizona wins it all. They wanted to go all the way and felt they could. They had a great season and anyone watching last night realized that 30 wins was not a fluke or playing weak competition. They are for real!

    Well Sandy,

I guess the college hoops season officially ended yesterday. No Aztecs and no Spartans. Time for spring football!!!

Yes Gary and my Padres are 1 and 0 beating the dreaded Dodgers! I guess I will actually watch the last game but probably not the others. How did Kentucky who could not play together as a team all year suddenly find it and look like they could win it all? Wait until next year!

And the Pads beat our ex-closer with three runs in the bottom of the 8th. PRICELESS !
