   I am looking to purchase a used ride on trencher, any suggestions on brand and model, and where I could purchase one. We are doing some irrigation up grades, so I do not need a big one but one big enough to cut through tree roots and cut a 4-8 trench.
   
   Any suggestions.

   We have a Vermeer walk behind we purchased used from a Sunbelt rental auction. It works great and with the spacer blocks installed we are able to cut a 6" wide trench. This is in Southwest Florida in relative sanding soil. We also picked up an earth saw that cuts a 1.5" trench and we use it for most of our root pruning (less clean up).
