Something keeps pulling the battery down on this machine. What could be the problem. We charge it, mow a few times and the battery goes dead. Same thing every couple of days. Thanks for your help, Mike

Have you checked to see if the units charging system is working? Also a load test on the battery should be done. From what your describing you are charging the battery, and then it's running off the charge, and leading me to think it's in your charging system.

I also would check the charging system. You could also charge the battery and disconnect it over night to see if it goes down on its own. If these are not the problem maybe the switch is not shutting everything off and allowing something to discharge the battery.

If this is the triplex 3100, and not the Reelmaster 3100, there is a voltage regulator that mounts to the back of the engine that gets hot and stops working because it is right by the muffler. We have had to change that out before, and when we do, we relocate it away from the muffler.

    Andy,
Where do you relocate it too? We have had this same problem with them getting hot and stop working, but never thought about moving it.

Right above the motor mount, on the frame at the rear of the engine. I went out to look at one, and I noticed on the new 3150-Q's, they actually have a shield over the regulator now. They must've gotten some feedback from the field and made it happen!!

Had trouble with this also this season. Tried all the fixes mentioned and it was none of the above. Swithed out the key switch assembly and away we went. Something in there was not allowing it to charge the battery. check and clean all connections there also to make sure they are not loose may solve your problem with no new parts.

Had the same problems over the past 2 seasons with our 3 3150's. 1 was the regulator, 2 were bad key switches.
