While shut down for a major renovation to the course, I am going to reno our course restrooms. We have a natural tile floor now that soaks up 'fluids' at the base of the urinals. I spoke to my general contractor echoing the sentiment of the members, that they would like a higher end appearance. He says most high end clients don't pee on the floor.

I am wondering if anyone has had good luck with a specific flooring material that will be slip resistant for golf shoes, but still be cleanable for the inevitable return of the issue. Thanks.

    Josh,

Ask your tile contractor about etching the tile floor. We had issues with ours being very slippery on humid days, and our contractor supplied a product that made it non-slip.

Even some of my highest end clients will pee by a tree if they have the need!

there are many different types of flooring that you can use. look into vinyl epoxy flooring on the internet. this stuff is commercial grade and is used in kitchens. its basically a solid floor overlay (not paint) that is troweled on and non slip. you can get just about any color and it is very easily cleaned up. no grout lines to get dirty and it can also be floated up the wall as a base board. (it may even be able to be applied as a backsplash to your urinal area)

If I was redoing my course bathrooms and had the funds it would be what I use because of the ease of cleaning and the longevity of it.
