So we just found out that we will no longer be able to get 87 octane gas (regular at the pump) that is not blended with 10% ethanol. Most of our equipment says not to use ethanol blended fuels. Just wondering if anyone out there is using a !0% blended fuel and if you have had any issues.

    John,

Our Toro equipment here in Indiana seems to be doing well running on E-10 fuel. We are however beginning to have issues with our 2 cycle engines.

You may need to look at cleaning your tanks before switching. Ours got switched and the supplier failed to notify us. We started having HUGE issues. All of our equipment started to run like crap, fuel filters started clogging, etc... I finally traced it to the switch and our supplier had to come, at their cost, and pump out my tanks, clean them and refill them. Problem was attributed to the ethanol de-varnishing my fuel tanks and suspending years of residue in the fuel. Other manageable issues: our JD 2500B GM has a short section of rubber hose inside the fuel tank that disintegrated after a couple years, use a special filter on our regular E10 fuel tank that detects water to protect from phase separation and using a fuel additive for our 2-stroke equipment (not sure what it is, my EM takes care of that.)

Well, at least take solace in that you're helping save the world from certain environmental disaster otherwise.
