I found this yesterday. Seems like something new everyday.

Anyone else see anything like this. How do i even start to fix this.

Virgil, are you sure they are still in use? Is something not working? In my course we have sections that have been bypassed and vestigial tubing and wiring in many areas.

    Saludos Michael

Whenever I come across something like that I have my foreman take the loader out and bury it ASAP.
This program has worked for me for over 16 years.

Put an ear to the pipe and turn on a sprinkler on either side of the pipe to see if you hear water moving. If not no worries.

I would not just bury this thing. I would at least try to wrap everything up in a way so it can be accessed later if you have a problem.

If you find that the pipe and wires are live you will need to excavate on both sides of the bank, re-sleeve the wires and put a sleeve over the waterline. This will require that you cut the wire and waterline on both sides of the bank, install the sleeves, splice the wires and waterline and bury.

The photos look like a wash area. I would be concerned about future flooding and debris damaging the repair. If this is a wash area, you may want to consider excavating quite a way back from the bank, trenching below the wash area, and placing the wire sleeve and waterline below the invert of the wash.
