I watched a little bit of the Ladies tournament in Quebec yesterday because a young Gal named Tiffany Joh was tied for the lead. She grew up and played high school golf in our school district, excelled at UCLA and has practiced very frequently at Barona. She is a great young gal and had a real chance to win until the last 4 holes. What I noticed was what appears to be a lack of physical conditioning with many in the LPGA that you really don't see in the PGA. Old Lumpy, Tim Herron is about the only overweight PGA tour player you see. They all appear to be pretty physically fit. I just wonder how much better some of the LPGA players might be if they worked on conditioning. Being bigger may have actually worked in Lincicome's favor yesterday because she was more steady over the ball in very poor conditions and she is a long hitter. I would think for consistency and longevity that several of the LPGA players would benefit from an aggressive fitness program. Having been married for 43 years and hearing does my butt look big in this outfit a few times, I know how sensitive this issue may be but if they want to win more frequently, why not give it a try?

Sandy, You actually got to watch some of the ladies tournament?

I am going off topic, but that is the one issue I have with the LPGA, almost everything is on the golf channel and that is out of our budget to add to our cable bill. I think they have a great product yet no one can see it. I always have to go to the LPGA website to follow what is going on. I do try to follow Amanda Blumenhurst, she played in the Indiana Girls championship on the course I was at in Indiana, lost I think on # 17 after finding a divot in the middle of the fairway. Her grandfather played at our course all the time when I was there.

    Sandy,

You're safe as long as you don't have any enemies on the forums!!!!

Regarding the comments on golf coverage on TV, I have to agree with how much I have hated the coverage this year. Being someone who doesn't get the Golf Channel I have experienced the same issue with missing the end of an event. Watching the US Amateur yesterday and NBC here cut it out with two+ holes to go and switched coverage to the Golf Channel. Had a similar experience several times this year with CBS coverage where on Saturdays coverage ended with the leaders still having several holes to go. ABC does the same thing with ESPN. I would like to watch the entire end of day coverage without having to access three or four different stations. With all the garbage they waste TV time on can't we just see the whole day of golf? Pretty soon they'll only cover the first seven innings of baseball or give you 3 quarters of a football game.

Sandy, since your marriage has lasted so long you have obviously mastered how to tactfully answer that question. I'm still learning.

I don't know why there are so many chubby looking girls on the LPGA. Some of their outfits are not flattering. Ryan O'Toole, a local SCHS and muni kid is doing great!

    Mel,

I played with Amanda in a Pro-Am last year at the Safeway Classic, her uncle was her caddie. What a great kid. We actually won the Pro-Am going 19 under, with a eagle-eagle finish with Amanda making a 40 fooer with our last chance on the last hole. Talk about fun!!! I keep hoping she will catch lightning in a bottle on tour because a young lady like her in the lime light will be good for golf.

Sean, great story, just goes to show what a small world it is in the golf business.

I knew her uncle caddied for her, he was a long time pro in Ft. Wayne IN. Family in the area told me he fit her with her Nike clubs for her senior year at Duke. I had wondered if that was why she didn't have a dominating senior year, getting used to the new set, but after reading some golf magazine articles on her, I think it was more that she was enjoying all of her senior year at Duke.

Speaking of Nike clubs, just got my new set of irons yesterday, retired my 35 year old Lynx blades.

It is really sad that the term "Muffin Top" ever made our societies vocabulary! It seems to be a trend these days.

Maybe the LPGA players don't have the budget for steroids like Tiger.

Tiger was on steroids??? I thought he worked out other ways and that was what contributed to his fitness!!

The reason they have to change channels is due to their slow play. 2 and 3 somes can't get done in under 4 1/2 hours? There are alot of "beautiful" players but they can't seem to win or place high enough to get on T.V.
