    Hi guys,
I'm new to the industry, chasing some occaisional scalping issues. HOC is 105. Micro bedknives, new 11 blade reels. Any thoughts?

My first thought is you mentioned "new reels". When the new reels were installed were the frames squared on a bench plate in relation to the reel? Is this happening on multiple units and greens? Check the rear drums to be sure there's no wear in the bearings and check the front rollers for play.

Any thatch issues? How about your bedknife attitude? Bad bearing in the reel or roller?

What area are you in, and what type of grass are you mowing? If your reels were worn down to 4.5 or less, your bedknife attitude was greatly affected. Adding a new reel restore that attitude so you are having a more aggressive cut, and could be causing some scalping issues. Check all the above mentioned items, these items need to be done, such as drum bearings, roller bearings, and squaring of the cutting unit. Raising the HOC and slowing bringing it back down will help your greens adjust to the new reels and attitude of your bedknife.

Let us know what helps you out, and always give as much info as possible, it will help others point you in the right direction quicker

I agree with everything above, and I'll just add that "dropping" the cutting unit as you cross the border will add to the potential for scalping. It's more pronounced with grooved rollers. Have the operators lower slowly if this is an issue.
