This is cool. I'd like to see this map with more description for each year......El Nino, La nina, active hurricane seasons, etc.
I can only speak for the southeast and Florida, but our droughts only "seem" to correlate with non-active hurricane seasons (I say "seem" because I haven't actually looked to see if that's true).
To put it into perspective, if we have a Tropical Storm that gives us 10" of rain in June once every 10 years, our average rises by one inch. So the question is, is that extra inch of rain normal? I think the answer is no.
Maybe a map that shows drought by the decade would suit us more in the Southeast and Florida
