Does anyone use riding fertilizer spreaders for green or tee applications? If so, what kind?
    Thanks

I've seen guys use Cushman mounted Vicons.

I've also been tinkering with the idea of the commercial stand-on spreaders similar to what landscapers use.

I was thinking about the stand-on spreaders as well. Turfco has a sprayer/spreader, but I think I would just want the spreader alone.

This is what I was considering:

Only downside is it's still a two man operation: one to spread and one to haul. But, the guy hauling can cut cups and water in, so.....basically same amount of people.

Check into zspray.com. L.T. Rich and Company is the manufacturer's name. I use their intermediate spreader/sprayer for my lawn care business. Does a really nice job. I've used it on greens and tees on the course and it did equally as well. They are also excellent at customer service.

We currently have the Turfco T3000 that you guys are referring to. We do not use it for green or tee granular fert. applications, still walk those, but do use it to do green/tee surrounds, bunker surrounds, around ponds, anywhere we do not want to take our tractor mounted Lely to prevent fertilizer ending up places it should not. Also use the sprayer if there is just a small area we want to treat, also have a few properties where the unit comes in very handy as well. Andy is right about the two people, one hauling, but after you get the feel for it someone can go around and place some bags in areas where you generally need to load up so that both people aren't tied up the entire time. Great unit, costs quite a bit, but really useful in my opinion.

Callum what's your reason for not using it on tees and greens.

Mainly because there would be issues with turning it around on some of the slopes that we have around those areas. We do take it on some fairly severe slopes, to the point that you are standing on the upper corner of the foot pad to ensure that you are keeping yourself upright, but you could never make a turn and go back in the opposite direction without flipping.

Lesco/JD has an electric spreader that you can make to fit almost any application. We made one to fit on the back of a cart. It goes on in about 5mins. It cut my tee and approach time from 3hrs to about 1 hr.
