    Hello all
anyone had any issues with the engine not reving high enough? the rev counter is showing 1700 ish on high rev and the unit is not moving as fast as it should, the traction pump was recently replaced, any ideas would be good thanks

First what is the model and serial number of the 648? If it has the Kohler CH 19 engine like ours I would probably check the engine RPM's with another tachometer to make sure what it's running for sure then I would check the throttle linkage/cable to make sure it's fully pulling to the high stop. If it is not then adjust the throttle cable to pull fully to high stop but if it is then you could adjust the high screw. Here is a link for the procedure to adjust on page 17-18:

If check the throttle cable first inside the fuse/battery panel . If the guys slam it on ...the cable rod bends . I just straighten it out and tell the guys to go easy .

    Thanks guys
I will check the engine type, its not my machine so don't have the details on pc, I have looked at cables and there doesn't seem to be anything wrong but I may be missing something. Apparently its been like this since the traction pump was replaced so I was thinking it may be something that has changed since then?!?! We have someone coming out with testing equipment to check hydraulic pressure and hopefully a tachometer to check rpm, so hopefully all will be become clear tomorrow.
    thanks very much again
    regards
    Baz
