Just finished the book by Marcus Luttrell. A truly remarkable story within a military full of brave heroic men and women. Pick it up.

Is this the one about the Transexual SEAL team member, or the one Glenn Beck has a man-crush on?

No to your first guess and I have no idea about Glenn Beck, wouldn't know where to find him on the dial. But I must say that was a fairly ballsy first guess of yours. I wouldn't want to be the one explaining that to Marcus Luttrell.

Clay, I'm reading it now...great book so far... I don't think most people understand the sacrifice soldiers and their family make to protect this country.

And may God Bless the men & women and thier families that have! Thank you for your service!

I read the book when it came out. An excellent read. I probably will not see the movie although I hear it is good.
I just don't trust Hollywood to depict the book exactly as written. Around the same time I also read a book titled Ghost Soldier(s) about the Bantam death march. I had a lawn care client who was on that death march. I will never forget toward his end of life he could hardly walk out to his garage and meet me by his sprinkler clock. He had to stop and catch his breath and made the comment about all that he had been through in life he can't even walk around the house. He passed a little after that encounter but my memory of him will not, a stunning survivor and a stunning book.

Will Afghanistan survive, reform and prosper like Japan I doubt not. The same thought for Iraq as well.

Reading the book now and can't wait to see the movie (once I complete it) and hope it represents the story well.

For those who like another great read and movie: Read [u">No Easy Day[/u"> then watch Zero Dark Thirty. The Seal Operation matched very well in the film.

pretty much nailed it especially about the movie and hollywood. the book is 10X better and the movie strays off course at times.

For those who want to read about another incredible man read Fearless: The Undaunted Courage and Ultimate Sacrifice of Navy Seal Team Six Operator Adam Brown. I found his story inspirational and truly amazing!
