Hope this message finds everyone across the land doing well. Looking for some advice on from what I can tell is mechanical wear where the greens and approaches come together. History on our practices of mowing are both areas are walk mowed, we do use plastic lattice to turn on when mowing both approaches and greens. The greens and approaches are entering into their second season, gassed and regrassed fall of 2011. I've just noticed it more the last week or so and I'm not sure if it's amplified due to all the rain we received over the last few weeks along with cooler soil and atmosphere temps not allowing for strong bent growth and recovery. Last week the approaches were mowed with groomers 2 seperate days followed by a light topdressing and dragged in by coco mat. I believe I'm going to head out tomorrow and hit the areas with some solid tine aerification to get some air to the roots and also relieve some compaction that may have taken place as of late due to increased mowing frequencies and the moist conditions. I have greens/approach aerification scheduled for the 20th with verticutting, topdressing, and fert tomorrow.
Thanks in advance for any thoughts or suggestions.
