Has anyone used a growth regulator after edging bunkers? We will be edging bunkers in the next 2-3 weeks and thought maybe this would help keep the edge a little longer and obviously reduce the need for the constant string trimmer. I was thinking about about trying it around trees too, I hate when the new guy weed whips the grass down below the crown to regulate growth.

We use primo on our bermuda. increasing rates monthly from 7oz up one ounce per month through the growing season. It helps us out a bunch

    Andy,

We've been using primo around our trees the last couple of years with great success. Past mentor passed this method on to me. Took that task from being an every other week job to maybe 3 times through the season, possibly 4 between May and October. I'd send a few guys out with backpack sprayers after the second string trimming and that would hold us for quite some time. I think I'm going to experiment on bunkers this season as the turf is growing out and requires weekly mowing, like to stretch to about every other week. I wanna say we were doing 1.5-2oz Primo in a backpack sprayer that would cover 4000 ft2.

    Best Regards,
    Justin

Thanks for the replys. I am going to try Proxy at 5 ounces and see how that works and may try Primo to see which one works better, but I think Proxy would be cheaper.
