    All,

We have implemented some code changes that correct all of the known problems with logging into the new website. If you are currently having difficulty logging in, please clear your cookies and try to log in again. If you still have trouble after that, please reply to this post and one of our team members will contact you for assistance.

Don't worry. I love it when people reply to my posts. For awhile it seemed that whenever a GCSAA employee replied to a post it seemed to die. This interaction makes me believe that my posts are actually being read. ;)

The problem that some people were having was in regards to logging into the website, not the forums. Some were getting an error and some were just not able to login at all. These issues [u">should[/u"> for the most part be resolved now.

    Gary, Pat:

Did you clear your cookies and then restart? That appears to be what is doing the trick. The home page has more information on this.

Have to log in every time regardless of whether or not I've told it to remember me, then wait forever for it to load, then go to forums and have to log in again. This sucks.

This is to be expected, currently the sign in for the website and the forums are separate; these are two entirely different applications and a single sign-on solution will not be available until the 2nd phase of our redesign.

I too have to log in each day. It is getting old and annoying very fast. Hope they fix it soon. I have cleared the cookies, history, log in preferences, etc. and GCSAA can't seem to get it right.

I am still not able to stay logged in. If I go to jobs board I have to log in again. Anytime I navigate away from the home page I have to log in again. I have cleared my cookies and history multiple times. Mildly annoying.

I have two computers on-line. On one I need to repeat log-in for every member access screen, the other simply can't log in at all. I have been through all the recommended steps clearing cookies and so forth several times on both computers. In the process, I have caused disruptions to log-in procedures for numerous other sites I go to that were working smoothly for me. I have spent over half an hour on the phone with an IT guy at the GCSAA (trans-Atlantic call) to try to get it working, but to no avail.

I have been using this site since 1997, and I have never had so much trouble. The site worked perfectly well before this recent "up-grade". Why couldn't well enough have been left alone?

I am well past mildly annoyed.

    Care to answer?

Which part of the site are you not able to remain logged into? If you are speaking of logging into the home page and then going to job boards you will have to log in to that system. Clearing your cookies and history will not fix this. Currently this is part of the design. However this will not be the case forever. We are planning on creating a system to link your login to all parts of the new site. But it is not currently complete.

That is an "interesting" situation. Let's hit the basics first. I need to know what type of OS and browser you are using such as Windows XP and IE 8.0.

I am probably not the correct person to answer the "why" other than to say the old site is very quickly becoming unmaintainable. It requires more and more time each week to force it to appear perfect and we are beginning to run out of that precious resource. The new system requires far less maintenance and should result in a better web experience.

Tracy Neves has log in issues. I have to go to jobs, then log in, then go to forum and log in again. I laid off for a while and may do it again but would love to just log in once.

At the moment that behavior is by design. I may miss one of them but I believe you must log in to use the old site, new site, job boards and forums. Those are currently the main sections of our web presence. Adding a single sign-on solution is on our radar but it is currently not at the top of our list.

And so that everyone does understand, we are forced to jump thru the same hoops when we are testing the system. Except we have to log in hundreds of times each day. So although some people merely say it, we truly mean it when we say "We feel your pain".

    Chris,

Just need a little more information and we should be able to help out. We need to know what operating system, for example Windows XP and also the browser (with version) that you are using, such as Firefox 5.0. And if you are using a mobile device, please let us know which one you are using.
