    The first moon landing occurred on July 20, 1969. This beat the goal set forth by Pres. Kennedy. I was at Cape Canaveral at the time and watched the launch from close proximity. My father worked for GE and was in charge of partying, actually Public Relations but what is the difference? He spent his days golfing with "big wigs" and nights partying with them as well. Every launch meant 2-3 weeks away from home and I was always excused from school if it was open. Our hospitality suite was huge and everyone who was anyone was there. All of the astranauts, celebrities and scientists came. The evenings ended with dinner for VIPs at Bernard's Surf followed by The Mouse Trap night club. Of course the hospitality suite complete with open bars and carving stations was left open. I wish I remembered more of it. Pretty much all I remember is Susan Forbes, my father's boss's daughter from up north!

    I wish I also remembered more of it Scott. One of the greatest acheivments in the history of our nation if not the greatest......the exception becoming a free nation. But I was a little pre occupied at the time....a little gig called Vietnam. Glad you reminded us of the date.

    Greetings;

    Last time I visited your moon I found a golf ball about 170 miles from the post sticking in the moon dust with the red and white stripes and the stars in the corner.
