Parts became are becoming an issue on the engine. At one time, I was in sole possession of the only water pump in the world to fit a diesel engine from 2002.....go figure.
With Tier 4, gas is for me.
Douglas,
Thanks for the info. We just had one of our other courses replace a gas engine on their JD 2500 from about that time frame, had 3376 hours. When we started the process of pricing, there were 8 engines left in inventory in the JD system (so we were told) and the were $2300, by the time we got the ok to order, there were 5 left in the system. Although they had short blocks out the ying yang for only $2800. The only 2500 I bought was in Indiana and we had it doing tees, collars and approaches, but because of that we went diesel. Of course that was back around 2000 when Tier 4 was probably a dream.
