Anyone having issues with this unit leaving clippings behind on greens that requires them to be dew whipped afterwards? Suggestions to solve this problem? Thank you

What year model 2500? Deere has made many changes to their clipping basket design which may help you. Additionally is this a new issue? I ask because I suspect you've begun cutting different grass types going into winter which can be a game changer. Check with your JD dealer for dtac solutions and ask about the different basket types available.

    Mike,
Year model is 2011 and has the quick adjust cutting units with the new basket set up. We have had the issue since day one. We are cutting bermuda year round.

OK, with those baskets, JD has a kit to raise the height of your front baskets, essentially a bolt that holds the yoke up a bit, more to prevent the basket dragging on the turf, but also a straighter shot for clippings into the basket. the kit # is BM23910. The problem with that kit which is over a hundred bucks each, is it includes the yokes and the bolts. One only needs the bolts which you have in shop stock.

    Brian,

I don't have an answer but I would say your not alone. I played after an association meeting this summer and the supt was demoing this machine and used it on the back nine. I couldn't believe my eyes when we got to the 10th green. Of course they never heard of the problem and told him increase the reel speed and that would fix the problem.

    Thanks for the responses guys.
Mike, our machines are equipped with the adjusting bolts on the yoke and we've played around with it with no luck.
Its seems like grass builds on the wire roller scraper that is set about 1/8" off the roller and drops from that point, thinking about eliminating the wire scrapper and seeing what happens. Thanks again

We had the same problem on the 2500A model and after cutting the wire along the back of the rollers the clumps of grass were gone.

I do not run roller scrapers on greens mowers, only T's and fwy"s

We had that same problem with our 2500A also, especially after verticutting. We purchased roller brush assemblies, same as the 3235C assemblies. We have never had issues since. I'm not sure how well the brushes work on the newer reels though.

I have the same 2500Bs, 2011s, no roller scrapers, and we've never had the issue you're having. We walk mow most of the time, though, only triplex during the winter or after verticutting.

We seen this happen with ours the older the reels got. Put new reels in this year and the problem went away. That's all we did.
