   I am currently evalutating my seed head control program for greens and fairways. What is everyone doing? Proxy or Embark or a combo of both? Application timing? Number of apps? Thanks in advance.

   I have found that Embark is more consistent in response from year to year. Using the T&O formulation, making 1st app around 350 degree days (32 degrees f, start counting dd on March 1) at 1oz/msqft rate and follow it up at a 1/2 rate about 2-3 weeks after. Found the follow up app helps to clean up late blooming seedheads yielding a wider window of control. Always use a straight iron product with it for counteracting the slight discoloration it tends to give (no nitrogen - will lessen suppression result).
   
   Embark also works quickly so if the dd s creep up very fast you still can be effective. Proxy takes a while to work and need to get it down and into plant about 3 weeks before seeds arrive.
   
   I believe some work has been done combining Embark and Proxy with good results, just don't know the rates of each.

   I have used Proxy/Primo on several golf courses with great results. I have attached my growing degree day calculator to predict applications, rates are on calculator. Any questions drop me a line.

   I second the Embark. 25-75 Gdd base 50. Start counting after we mow off the winter fluff and the turf is beginning to grow a bit and will follow up one month after the first app with another. Greens 3 oz/ac and fairways at 4 oz/ac. I spray no Fe on our property. I prefer to see our true plant color, even if that color is Orange in the spring. Orange turf is fast turf
   
   I am likely going to play with one more app this season. Not so much for the seedhead control but for the regulation.
   
   Best of luck, regardless of which product you choose it is certainly a crap shoot in many cases but Embark does seem to be more reliable.
