Ok my club is looking at replacing tee signs on the course but there is a problem. Many of the yardages on the current signs are incorrect due to renovations or incorrect measuring in the first place or any number of other reasons. We currently have 4 different sets of tee markers per hole but for some holes we only have one tee to place them on. There are also places on the course where there are 3 different tees and one set of tee markers has 2 seperate colors (red and yellow on the same marker indicating ladies and seniors). What is the proper way to measure a golf hole when there are more tee markers than tees especially when there is only one tee but 4 different sets of tee markers?

We use 3 sets of tee markers at our course with 3 yard ages per hole. We have a yardage plate for each set of tees placed somewhere on the tee. The yardage is measured from that plate to the center of the green.

Contact your state golf association and have them re-rate the course and do all measurements.
Generally this is a duty your golf professional can do.

    I agree.

And since this will also cause your scorecards to be redone, I would form a handicap committee to re-evaluate the handicaps for each hole since some of this may have changed with renovations. All of this should be performed by your pro who can coordinate.

As for new tees signs, I really like what I am seeing from FusionCast. Looks like fancy granite or marble at half the cost. Actually have a new set coming myself due to a logo change last year....
