I have a RS-48 model roller, and need to replace the 6 small rollers that are underneath it (bearings worn out). When we disassembled one of the rollers to install new bearings, we found that the roller had one of the strangest bearing systems I've ever seen. The bearing race is held into the roller tube by two rubber encasements (one rubber encasement inside ANOTHER rubber encasement). Factory rollers are $225.00 each. Has anyone had to replace bearings in these??? Any information will be greatly appreciated!!

Tru Turf sent us all new rollers when we came across the same issue. Have you tried calling them?

If I am correct those rollers you have to completely replace the rollers they were not rebuildable.

On the RS48-11C that we have, there are two metal outer washers that come out before the bearing and our mechanic has replaced and rebuilt these rollers several times. The bearings are $10-$12 ea.

The newer RS48-11E has a different set-up and in the following manual in Sec2:39 it explains in detail how to replace these bearings.

Please post the part # of the 6 small rollers. There are different ones for the same model greensroller. If they have antifriction ball bearings this is the basic procedure I use...
