    Hi all,

Just a question for everyone who would like to respond.

We have quickstand tees mowed at .625" (along with our meyers zoysia collars and approaches, well zoysia that hasn't been over taken by mostly common bermuda) here in the transition zone, (SW Missouri)

I have fertilized them with 3 lbs. of Nitrogen which is about normal for us. They did come out of the winter not as beat up since we did have a colder and slower winter, and even a slow start to spring. They have actually held up very well this season, they just seem a little puffy, and not very firm. I would have even entertained lowering the HOC, if it wasn't for the zoysia, (same mower). One of the things we didn't get done as much as normal is slicing the tees with an old pull behind slicer/aerator, we normally slice 3-4 times per season, this year it was twice, we also used to at least topdress the par 3 tees.

What suggestions might you all have to help fix this problem I think I have?

I have planed to slice more, I'm wondering about putting aerator tines back on the unit, or maybe beating up our greens aerator, (which wouldn't be popular with the other two courses we share it with), what if I get back to topdressing par 3 tees everytime we do greens and maybe do the other tees once per month? Any other suggestions? What about verticutting them?

    Thanks!!!

    Mel
