Does anyone that has 2003 - 2007 model 3150's ever have starting problems during wet weather. Trying to figure out the problem, and so far the solution is covering the engine if the machine is sitting outside for any period during a rain event. Seems like moisture is finding it's way on the spark plug wires and grounding out.

We have a 3150 that was miss-firing for awhile after being washed off. Turns out to have a bad coil that was allowing moisture in.

thanks for the response. Looking at the set up of the the coils. It seems to be a coil and spark plug wire as 1 piece. By chance did you notice if it was the wire portion that was faulty or the coil. Second question did you replace both coils? In our situation we have actually noticed a spark jumping from the wire and grounding out on the engine block yet the integrity of the wire seems intact.

If you can see spark jumping to ground there is a problem even though the wire looks good. It really should be replaced but you might get away with a bunch of electrical tape to buy a little time.

We have 5 of these mowers that some have experienced similar problems, just hoping to find out the root of this problem. The units are in good condition, and visual inspection seems good. Trying to find out if people have had similar problems, and a good approach to find long term resolve.
