Kevin Na can't bring himself to hit the ball.
Andrew Loupe takes 11 practice swings and backs away from the ball 3 times?
    For crying out loud.
Slow play is a subject at EVERY ONE of our golf committee meetings. Any wonder why?
I don't even try to play in the winter any more, it just makes me crazy.
I learned to play this stupid game from my Dad when I was a kid. We didn't have GPS or range finders. We hit the ball, then we went and found it and hit it again. What has happened to this game? It's almost impossible to watch, much less play.

    Regards,

Our course is rated for 4:08. The MGA complains about slow play if it's more than 3:50. Seems playing under four hours with 110+guys isn't good enough.

Our golf committee tries to enforce 4:07 even though it has become apparent over the last 10 friggin years that it is unattainable.
350 to 400 rounds per day. They go off both tees at 7:25am and they bitch that they get wet at 7:30pm

With that many rounds, there is no way to get them to move fast enough. I played a municipal course with 10 minute gaps, only waited on one shot on the front nine, back nine was slower, a little more challenge and with people stopping to get food at the turn.

Our course plays fairly quick, we keep the grass down, greens slow, only thing that screws it up is the pro shop will let twosomes mixed in among groups of four and sometimes five.

As much as it pains me to say it I did like Johnny Miller's comment about this Loupe cat. He said if he had to watch him every week he'd quit as a commentator.

But really just do what every shoe pro does. Blame the course and our management of it.

    Could have been worse,

Just imagine being paired with Loupe and Na. I"m not sure that player would have any chance to maintain his sanity for 18 holes.

The course I play(American Golf) set 4:30 as pace so when it takes five hours they say not to bad. I don't think there is any hope in the near future.

Maybe we'll all get lucky and Johnny will quit over it.

Slow play has always been an issue. I remember working in the bag room at the local club when I was kid. A select group of members would routinely complain about slow play.
