We have 2 Eclipse TriPlex. I have used them for 4 years now I think. Our two are part of the first dozen or so off the line when they were released. We had bugs with software, and some electrical issues over the years. But, mainly due to the new technology at the time. Over the years Jacobsen have been updated our units. Software, components, have been replaced or updated. This was mainly due to them finding better solutions for the original design.
That being said, the last couple years have been relatively worry free. We'll have the occasional hiccup here and there. No different than any other piece of equipment. My greens are small. Only about 110k total. During the summer months we can mow almost All the greens(21 greens) with one unit. On a cleanup pass day we will get about 18 greens with one mower. Non cleanup day we can get all 21 cut. That little extra grass weight and pass make a difference.
I have staff empty ever green to keep weight down. We pretty much stay to a pre determined route for transport and mowing to get the most out of the batteries. During the week we will use one mower for the most part.
We also use the Eclipse to roll greens with True Surface vibe rollers. We can roll All greens on a single charge. We roll/mow every other day.
Overall, I would purchase again. Especially now that they will soon have Lithium Ion battery versions available. Hearing unofficial reports of mowing a least double the sqft than that of the lead acid version. If we get to the point of getting more Eclipse units, I would like to get the hybrid version for tees/collars.
