That's a nice operation, man. Did you decide to go with that machine after you trashed the 660?

What are you gonna topdress with? I would suggest large quantities of Halite.

In today's use I have found the Planet Air to be a far superior ice breaker than the 660, however traction on glare ice, even with 4 wheel drive is an issue with this unit

I'm guessing the knives on that thing are all of the old, battered ones that you had lying around?

Is that a big speaker on the roll bar?

I spread a heavy coat of black sunflower seeds on our worst one and the ice melted off and punky in about 3 days. Thickness 1-1.5""
Of the three days, two were partly sunny, the other rainy and overcast. Works for me.

I used sunflower seeds at your recommendation Steve, a few years ago and they worked great when we had sun. We haven't seen the sun this winter. Maybe salted sunflower seed would work?
The knives are new in the mid range width and none have bent so far.
The sound system is a Denon 7.1 surround with a paradigm Sub 2 mounted under the seat

That looks too cold for me. I figured you nartherners would be under snow at this point. That course looks playable right now.....well, except the ice.

Larry, have you ever considered a very late fall coring to drain those greens? I know of a course in Alberta that cores in late Oct. Leaves the holes open. Maybe in your case you'd fill them. Drainage to prevent the ice? Just a thought, I don't know your climate out there.

    Red,

Are things looking up. I was just out and only have ice on a few greens now.
