I've used plenty of Jacobsen equipment in my time in turf. But I've never done maintainance on one or had one in my fleet as a superintendent. I demoed a gp400 today and it seems as though there are no adjustments to parrallel the rear roller to the bedknife. Part of my reel set-up has always been checking for parrallel so I was surprised the jacobsens dont have a way to do that. Does anyone have some input on this?

    Thanks.

Most all your Jacobsen cutting units have fixed mounting for their rollers. Keep your reel ground as close to a perfect cylinder as possible, and grind a true square bedknife, " Square off the mounting bolts on the shoe" will give you the most accurate grind as that is where it fits into the frame/housing. Set your HOC and go, you will be fine. Jacobesen has a lot less parts to adjust, or that can move and come out of adjustment. Once you get use to them you will love them. I have had fleets of JD, Toro, and Jac, and they have all worked very well. Each had their little issues and setup procedures that took getting use too, but in the end they all do a nice job when set correctly.

Same answer here. Jac has not settings, at least the ones that are under 17 years old
