To those who apply their topdressing sand with push spreaders, how much material are you applying per 1000? what type of sand are you applying and at what intervals? are you dragging the greens in or is it light enough to simply water in?

    Thanks,

I kind-of remember being close to 20lb/M. Most greens were taking 2-3 bags. That was "wide open" on a rather large Earthway dual wheel push spreader. No need to brush it in. It's a great program. Kenneth Ingram, UMD

Is this program part of an organic matter dilution program? I've seen recommendations for o.m. dilution ranging from 20 to 60 cubic feet per thousand per year of applied sand. At such a light rate, it'd take a 100 apps per year at 20lbs/1000 to reach the minimum recommendation. Or is my math wrong? I was using 2700 lbs of dried sand per cubic yard for calculation purposes. I'm having a yard enough time getting out enough sand using 100 pounds per thousand of sand every two weeks.

    25 lbs/1000. I use BEST sand (Fairmount Minerals). Water in...and it's gone.
