At a previous course we used a JD1500 to aerate greens, tees, fairways and athletic fields. Did not deep tine though.

We have used a Redexim Verti-Drain 7316 for the last three years. We deep tine greens, tees and fairways and use the same machine to pull cores. We use 1/2 inch solid tines and 3/8 hollow tine for cores. Very solid machine and versatile. Very happy with its performance.

Ransomes looked at buying an aerifier called a Weideman many years ago. We had it at the test facility on Longboat. We did over 150 acres with it in deep tine mode and punched holes in a lot of rocks. I don't know whatever happened to them, but that thing was bullet proof.

The company still exists and makes amazing equipment!

Had their deeptine machine at a previous course, would rip old cast iron pipe out of fairways and not miss a beat!!
We are coming up on time to replace our Vertidrain, I'm recommending Wiedenmann!!

We currently have their Super 500 (sweeper/ flail mower / verticutter) and it's the most versatile piece of equipment we have!!

All that said, the Toro ProCore 648 is hard to beat for greens and tees!!

I am glad to hear that Wiedenmann is still in business. It was an incredibly stout aerifier. I think we had some kind of tungsten tipped tines on it though. We also had a John Deere Aerifier that was incredibly sturdy, but it did not do deep tine aerification. I liked the Wiedenmann.

We use a Toro pro core sr54 s aerator mounted on a New Holland boomer 40 for deep or shallow aerification on greens, tees, fairways and soccer fields.
