My Admin. Manager tells me this morning that one of our 18 hole ladies had a suggestion for me. She wanted to know if it would be possible for us to not rake the bunkers on ladies day in order to minimize the possibility of anyone catching Valley Fever from the dust that gets in to the air after we've raked...

I'm dying to ask this lady member how she figured out that our 13 bunkers are a significant contributor to the air quality here in the Valley of the Sun... never mind the plowing of fields upwind... the landscapers using backpack blowers to clear a desert landscaped yard... and all of the other known contributors to the particulates in the air. No... not raking the bunkers on ladies day is going to make all the difference... We'll get right on that!

Now that I think about it... I need to get Mr. Trevor Monreal to not rake his bunkers on Wednesday too... you are kind a, sorta, upwind of me here! :P

We get that one weekly. They want us to either work before or after ladies day.

My 18 hole ladies President asked me Wednesday to change the toilets out on the golf course. She said that since they are seven years old they are in need of replacement.

Andy, I would do it, then send her the bill.

I was asked once to 'just move the 8th green'. She thought it was that easy.

The other day a guy came into my shop wanting to know who's in charge of changing lightbulbs. When my assistant asked him where the light bulb was he said "in my garage".

I had a golfer ask me when it had last rained. I replied Friday night (it was Monday) we got about a quarter inch. He then asked why the bunkers are soaking wet if it hasn't rained recently. I replied that we had watered the night before and in the morning to water in fert and pre-emergant. He then told be that we need to fix our irrigation system because the sand in the bunkers shouldn't be wet.

He proceeded to shank his drive on the hole I was working on and complain about how we don't have a driving range so he could have practiced with his new driver before his round. I didn't say anything but we actually have 2 driving ranges and on is lighted.

    Nice laugh on a Monday.
