This unit has a newer engine so I don't think that is not the problem. I suspect Hydraulic, it bogs down when mowing and lifting units and it also limped back to shop slowly in mow speed. Total bog down when shift to transport. I have a spare pump to try but any help would be appreciated. Hydraulic level and filter all in good shape as well.

    Thanks

Kevin, If your engine isn't getting up to rpm there is a governor spring that sometimes breaks. Kind of a pain to get to because you have to remove airfilter to get to it.

    Kim,

Governor appears to be fine I can see it moving to send more power but the engine is at full power.
We can barely mow and it bogs down on any grade. If I get behind it and push we can get it to cut at its usual speed on the flatter areas.
Oh and TORO's service dept. sucks no one to call directly and I left a message last Thursday and still no call back. Just in case any TORO pretty boys in suits are reading this post.

    Thanks for any suggestions.
    P.S.
I do have a parts unit tempted to change out pump.

Haven't had a 3100 in a while, but from what I remember there was a linkage between the motor and the hydraulic pump that would fail occasionally that would limit the power. If the engine is running strong , I would be looking at the pump area.

Check the fuel filter. Had a Toro bunker rake bog down anytime it was under load or going up a slope. Changed the fuel filter and it worked fine. May not be that simple, just a suggestion.

Has anyone ran it out of diesel lately? Might have some air in the fuel system and it just needs to be bled out

I had one last year blow a hydraulic motor. It would run fine but wouldn't go unless in 2nd gear. Got a new pump from R&R and ran great

Something as simple as the fuel cap not venting?

Kevin, My mechanic says there is a valve on back side of hydrolic pump that is used for towing mowers. Maybe it got turned and is bypassing fluid to other parts of the mower. Later, KIM

Does the engine bog down or do the hydraulics weaken?

If engine bogs, Is muffler clogged or plug wires bad?
