I did not see any posts so far heralding the efforts of Roger Meier, Supt. and crew members @ Valhalla CC in Louisville, KY-so let me be the first.

As a resident of Kentucky and former superintendent, I am quite proud to report that he(Roger)has presented a magnificent venue to the golfing world based upon his efforts in hosting this Major. I have been able to attend via my GCSAA card and see these efforts first hand. If you get a chance, tune in this weekend and see for yourself.

Congratulations to Roger Meier, Superintendent and his team of Valhalla CC in Louisville, KY.

I second Ken's remarks, however I write this post with modest frustration. My club is hosting the final round of a local golf championship tomorrow and my staff and I have worked our butts off to make our facility a showcase for our members to show off to the competitors of this annual event. I have taken today (Saturday) to enjoy watching the PGA championship on my couch before I wake up at 4 am tomorrow to prep the course for the final round of tomorrow's event. While watching the event for most of the day I have seen the President of the PGA of America, Ted Bishop with Jim Nantz twice and have seen a clip of Ted presenting Bill Clinton with the highest PGA award twice. Where is our President, Keith Ihms? Did we present the Old Tom Morris Award to Annika? Until GCSAA sells the superintendent we will always be unknown and paid less than the below average golf professional. If Valhalla was the only course on the planet, who would Rory be without Roger Meier? Well done Roger.

I heard kudos given several times to the agronomic team by various commentators. Well done under the weather conditions. Very exciting finish.

Great job by the staff. A fabulous presentation of "getting it done" particularly with the rain delays.

Was there an unusually large number of golfers in this years PGA? I ask because there were [u">a lot [/u">of divots in the fairways.

Meyer Zoysiagrass on bunker slopes and Better Billy Bunkers in about 90% of the bunkers.
