I have a rain bird 900 head that will not completely shut off. The head goes all the way down, but water continues to still flow out at a pretty good rate. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Could be a couple things.
A.) Bad HPVD valve (foot valve) There could be some debris in there not allowing the gasket to seat properly, or the gasket is worn. If the gasket is worn with a good indentation in it you can twist off the plastic piece that holds it on and flip it. If you need a new HPVD valve, send me a message. I have a good and cheap source for them.

B.) The rock screen below the HPVD valve may be loose or cracked. The gasket on the HPVD valve seats to the top of the rock screen. You need a special tool with a long 3/8" extension to remove.

If you are hydraulic, then you may have other issues.

Thanks Keith. It is electric, I have some foot valves in stock, I will start there.

It could also be the valve stem which the solenoid attachs to. There is a plunger in that with a spring and can sometimes get stuck.
