In a couple weeks the has the annual Ironman Tourney or what I like to call it F'er Pin Friday.
All players play from the back tees and we give them the toughest pins possible, on steep slopes, 2" hole (irrigation sleeve to putt into), no flag sticks in hole so players don't know where the hole is until on the green.

I'm looking for some more suggestions on making things more difficult or different ideas on what to do to make it fun and difficult.

    Suggestions appreciated.

In an outing labeled "Superintendents Revenge" I saw them put a bunch of range balls in a fairway landing zone so they had to find their ball. They would also park some equipment in the fairway to be in the way as well as double roll around the hole on some greens or not mow around the hole on others.

I've always liked to cut a flagstick in half and tuck it on a false front, giving the impression that it's on the back edge of the green. Have fun with your tournament!

If you have a practice green near one of your holes you can make the normal green have no hole. Put a note on the green that they must take a drop in the rough and hit into the practice green.

If you have undulating greens, put the pin on the break of the slope. If you have elevated greens, put the pin on the collar of a severe slope. Park large equipment right in front of the green. Have them drive on a par 3 using a Medicus club. Put PVC around the cup about two feet away and only allow two or three "entrances" to the cup. I also had a 1000cc driver I made them use on one hole and a 12 inch putter I made them use on another. Be creative and make sure the golfers don't take it seriously.

One other thing we did was to hold it around Halloween and have golfers in costume.

We use 8 inch cups and put them in hard spots. We also get very creative with where they tee off. We tee off from different tee boxes on different holes. I use to not like doing it but we have a full 18 hole field for a Saturday and a Sunday. We also have a waiting list of a few teams if anybody cancels.

Have a bucket of cut range balls at one of the par threes that they have to use on that hole. have another bucket at the green so you can get them back for next year.
