We are in the process of 'attempting' to convert from a Toro hydraulic irrigation system to an electric.. Just curious if anyone has any insight with this process..?

The total expense is in the $100k-120k range.. One question I have is, can you purchase used 16 station Elec-hyd conversion assys.?.. If so, where would be the best place to purchase..

    Thanks in advance..

I am about to start the electric over hydraulic conversion here at my course. I would just spend the extra money and get all new and not have to worry with the equipment being all new you will get a warranty. I am so ready to get rid of this 42 year old vari time 2 system. We will start in January and should be done around may. we are going to do this project in house should be fun.

We were able to do 2-3 boxes per day after we developed a system. The Toro Technician helped us with the first one. We had 31 boxes in all.

Guys- I will fill you with all the information you need. I have had this for 20 years. And if you are in a warm climate, I would love to be your repairman in a few years when I retire. I guess I should say, I hope it is a warm climate, because you don't want it in a cold climate.

We renovated our old VT-2 system a little over two years ago. We installed E-Osmac and absoulutely love it. The switch went pretty smooth. Just keeping all wires numbered to put in the new boxes is imperative though. Going from VT-2 and no central to Osmac with Site Pro central is nice after having to come in around 4 am just to get stuff watered!

Curious, what you did with the hydraulic conversion kits after you were completely electric.. I guess that is my big concern. I know some of you guys that have done this will have some slightly used (16 st hyd-elec) conversion kits or maybe know someone who might have some.

We sold almost all of our parts to another course that was in dire need of them. We still have some spare parts lying around, but not enough to amount to anything. What we had after that was junk so it ended up in the dumpster, or the scap yard. Sorry buddy!
