Does anybody have experience with the Kutting Edge vehicle mounted cart path edger? Does it give a nice finished look? Does it use the bed cylinder hydraulics, or does the vehicle need additional hydraulic ports? Will it work on Bermuda and Zoysia? Thanks!

    Patrick,

We have one on a sand pro but it is not the one you mentioned. Not sure where it came from, but R&R has one that looks identical. We also tow a Buffalo Blower behind it as it is a dedicated machine. The cylinder on our sand pro connects to the hydraulics using a valve - one way for the edger, the other way for the rear rake lift cylinder. I'm pretty sure the ones for a Workman, etc....attach to external hydraulics.

I can tell you though that our set-up works like a champ. We can do 18 holes of continuous paths in about 3 hours with one guy - edged and blown. We do have to come back and touch up curbs by hand though. Gotta go slow, or you can damage the cylinder. Also, helps if you have good edges on your concrete and the seems are pretty straight. But, we like ours and will be looking to replace it possible this summer as it has been re-welded and straightened too many times. It's almost 7 years old.

Ours is mounted on a Cushman Truckster and it is connected to the dump bed hydraulics. We also tow a Agri-metal turbine blower behind it and do the cart paths that we have in a couple of hours. Does a great job. You just need a skilled operator (me) who doesn't get in too much of a hurry or you will bend the arm or worse. Ours has a added cross brace welded in after it got bent.....before I got here. Ours is going on 10 years I believe.

So do you just drive and kind of pull into the path slightly to get the clean cut without leaving gap? We walk edge ours, time consuming.

The head does pivot a little and I try to drive with a little pressure against the cart path to get the cleanest cut, but every once and a while you stray and you don't get the perfect edge. Definitely a huge labor saver. Last course with wall to wall cart paths took 3 guys with walk edgers and blowers 2-3 days to finish. We have only 12 holes with complete cart paths and the other 7 are just tee and green side cart paths and it takes me 2-3 hours to do the edging/blowing and maybe have one guy come around behind me to do any detail work.

nice! yeah takes us about 3-4 full days with a 2 man crew to get it done. It would be nice in the summer when the bermuda is really growing to only spend a couple of hours to keep em clean. Thanks.

Hello wanted to see what everyone uses for a cart path edger we currently have Kutting Edge Attachment for our 2030A gator but we aren't the happiest with it. It seems to wear down really quick and the cast iron housing that holds the disc on is getting worn down quick because the guys say it is twenty times easier with pressure down on it and using it as a guide even though when i talk to this Kutting Edge company they say that the center hub should be about an 1" off the ground but the guys tried that and it was constantly popping out of the sidewalk edge. I just figured I would reach out and see what people are using for attachments we don't want to be using Walk behind edgers as there is a lot of ground to cover and the finish product doesn't look nearly as clean as a round disc edger.
