I have tried to respond to a couple of posts.

I have typed in my response to the post, clicked on the check spelling button, and my typing dissapears. And it's not like I'm typing a novel, these are short post or for me very short posts. Not going to hit the spell check button this time just to see if it makes a difference?

It posted ok, I didn't hit the spell check button or even the preview button. I am going to hit the preview button on this post to see what happens, but no spell check.

It showed my preview. I'm going to try to submit this post and then will try one more check by hitting the spell check button.

The issue seems to be the spell check button. I just tried it and my typing dissapeared.

So it seems to be that there is a problem with the check spelling button.

    Thanks,

    Mel

    Mel,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I have attempted to reproduce the behavior you have described but have not been successful. I have tested the check spelling button on Chrome, IE, Firefox and Safari, each allowing me to correct my spelling and post to the thread. Maybe am missing something. :?

I'll continue to triage this but do have some questions: I would like to know what browser you are using and if you are using a Mac or PC?

    John,

I was using a PC with internet explorer.

It might be something with the computer I was using, maybe the firewall or something else. The spell check seems to be working here at home. Using PC and IE here at home as well.

I have another computer I can try at work to see if it's the computer I was using at work today, or maybe our city's firewalls. I'll try this tomorrow when I get a chance.

    Thanks, Mel

    Thanks,

I'm having a problem again when I hit the spell check button.

I am using IE on a PC. It is doing it on both computers I have access here at work.

I will try later at home and just see if my issue is confined to my work computers.

    Thanks, Mel

Hmmm, let me know what you discover at home. I made some simple changes hoping this might yield different results, if you have a chance please attempt to post from work to test these changes out.

Again, I was able to spell check this post prior to submitting.

I would just stop using spellczech.

    John,

I will check back at work on Sunday.

The spell check worked for me at home tonight. I am wondering if somewhere on our city system there is something that causes the problem. I remember it working on Tuesday up until today.

    thanks,

    Mel

I would just stop using spellczech.

The people that truly need to use spell check, or "czech" if you're from Stockton, don't use it anyway. All it does is confirm that you've spelled they're, their, or there correctly. Lose the button.

I don't get it, the spell button is working for me here at work this morning.

I know it worked last night at home too.

Maybe they are trying to tell me at work.....to get back to work?

    Mel,

Like a mentioned above, I had made some changes that could have caused the difference in behavior you experienced over the weekend. I hope this is the case and your work computer will demonstrate a more consistent experience.

Please continue to use the check spelling when posting and let me know if this behavior comes back.

    Thank you,
    John
