I was doing some research and was thinking that maybe this would be handy to have on the shelf or when the city reacts to that I will not have to accomplish immediately. Does anyone have templates or ideas to include in a drought management plan? Kansas is becoming the 30's dust bowl stage and they have already been discussing that there may be a possibility of water restrictions if the drought is relieved a little bit this year. Thanks for any input and ideas.

    Ryan,

Here's a few resources to take a look at. I would also contact Ken Magnum or Mark Esoda in the Atlanta area who were involved in the drought work that the Georgia chapter worked through a few years ago. I think Mark won the Government Relations award for his work if I remember correctly.

We could not afford to install inboard and outboard heads on greens right now, but we did install adjustable heads so that we could irrigate greens only if needed. We calculated that we could do this with 12,000 gallons if necessary. Aside from that, if you don't have water what kind of plan could you have?

I'd be interested to see a plan as well, it can't hurt to be proactive.

Not far from you here in NW OK and this drought is depressing. We have several phases of our water rationing that we went through last year and this year will occur much quicker if we dont get good spring/early summer rainfall. We were unable to water any fairway heads last year from end of July to October and only watered ins on greens and new trees.
We dont have an issue with running out of water as some because we are on city water. Not much to do in the middle of summer in this drought but hand-water as there is nothing to mow/weedeat/edge. Actually saves us money on fuel/labor/fungicides and the seniors love it because they get a ton of roll on hardpan.
