   Sean, I just saw a little blurb about Big Foot and the reservation you work on. Is there old tribal lore about the creature? The video refers to loud screams heard at night in the Blue Mountains. I really think it would be cool if they really did exist and they were someday found in your area. Is it sort of a standing joke or is it taken very seriously around there. Could you even imagine finding vandalism to the golf course and find out it was caused by Big Foot? If you happen to see one and got it on video, would you dare tell anyone or would you immediately be labeled crazy? I am a true fan of the possibility. We only found gorillas about 100 years ago and we have found fish believed to be extinct for millions of years. Stranger things have happened.

   I am a sportsman and spend a lot of time in a tree stand or ground blind. I have spent some time in the woods and never saw or heard what I thought to be Big Foot. I also have spent some time (more than the show)in and around the Salt Fork Lake area of Ohio. This area has had sightings reported, it was also on the t.v. show where they hunt for Big Foot. I have seen some the the "sign"(no foot prints) that they point to and have heard trees fall over when there was little to no wind present. They say that Big Foots do that sort of thing.
   
   I just think it is just normal woods type activity and noises. But if I have the opportunity to throw some lead or an arrow at this beast the debate would be over. Wonder if I would go to jail over the real Big Foot or the mistaken Bob in a gorilla suit?

   Don't some states already have laws about shooting what is probably a mythical creature? It is just interesting to me wondering if there is even a possibility of a creature like this never being discovered. It is kind of like the Loch Ness Monster and UFO's. Our science doesn't lead one to believe they are possible but nothing is completely impossible. Are they old cultural myths and sightings are based on hallucinating or are they even possible?

   I say bogus no poop, no dna, no bones, no fossils, and not anything otherwise explainable. But kinda fun to imagine kinda like when the lottery gets real big folks start talking about what they would to with the money. Just to verify I would try to talk to it.....    OK that was weird, I spent a few minutes this morning on a reply, previewed it and then clicked submit and it disappeared. That has not happened in a long time. Maybe there is something to this Big Foot thing.

   That would certainly explain howls and noises many would not be used to hearing. Does the tribe having any folklore regarding bigfoot? I know several of the tribes refer to wild men in their lore. Some think of whatever they were or are as sacred creatures.

   I tend to keep my interest in the big fella under wraps... just better that way...
   
   Most of the native Indians have a "tall man" in their history... they know they are there and they leave them be...
   
   The Finding Bigfoot show on Animal Planet is considered to be a joke amongst the serious researchers, BTW...
   
   Me? I'm a skeptic... there's a huge amount of anecdotal evidence that can't be ignored. My interest lies in the psychology aspect of a purported sighting... if this creature doesn't exist, what makes people think they are seeing it? Similar to most people seeing the "little gray aliens"... besides... it fits right in with my four wheeling hobby!!

   Money is all that drives the idea of "Big Foot". There are still animals in places we have yet to name with many in the ocean. But money is the drive of the "Big Foot" idea.

    I fully believe that there's tons of animals and organisms out there, that we have yet to discover, and maybe some that are so few that we may never actually get to discover them. At the same time, I cannot believe in the whole "Big Foot" idea. I'm an avid hunter, and I've yet to ever see anything close to what I thought resembled a "Big Foot." I think it's purely a myth, that makes indivduals think they see or hear something that in fact could be easily explained, or their mind playing tricks on them. By now, with all the hunters in the states, one would have shot one, got better pictures of one, or bones and such would have been discovered. I can't believe a "Big foot" is so good at staying hidden from anyone.

    The best online info can be found on http://www.bigfootforums.com... the BFRO site is only good for the sightings database, but even that has it's issues...
    
    The best book I've read is "Saquatch: Legend Meets Science" by Dr. Jeff Meldrum... lots of stuff there that makes you go hmmmm.

    For those of you that find it so hard to believe that we have a lack of hard evidence on such a large species look into the story of the Giant panda. It was so rare it was considered a myth for almost 30 years despite the existence of pelts, it couldn't be found in the wild despite no camouflage, very specific diet, and habitat and a search by very experienced hunters, trackers and biologists. Teddy Roosevelt's sons finally were the first westerners to bag an adult panda in 1928.
    
    There are so many variations of the stories and legends of "man apes" in the world that I find it hard to believe that all of them are bogus.
